I just spoke with the ISRG rep, and he explained to me that ISRG is waiting on the release of SP specifically to the timing of competition. That is great because they view TITXF as REAL future competition. They are killing it now with the options they have. The SP will be offered in many forms and it can be added on to the current xi, but will be available for purchase independently... they are currently working on getting the price point down on this option, again to compete. The next generation for solo SP will have a smaller footprint/more mobile option. The idea is to offer an array of packaging deals for hospitals and have products that they will compete with other platforms... Conclusion: ISRG is not going by the way side. They will compete with TITXF and vice versa.. The area of growth is just huge for both and there is enough room for both no worries.
THE UPSIDE. He sais ISRG truly welcomes SP competition and thinks it will validate the area that much more.
MORE UPSIDE. We have some of the busiest Gyn robotic surgeons in the country. He said that they personally know Dr Advincula very well and can attest to the fact that this guy is BIG. He has commented to them about SPORT and without specifics has said nothing but good things.... They and the rep as well are now big TITXF investors. Also, no worries about the only other current competitor out there. everyone's view it is a joke. TITXF is the only real competitor with of course other lurkers along the way in the future.
MORE UPSIDE. Talking about the Nicholson Center and the fact that it is a huge DaVince place and the surgeons we have there and at Columbia are HUGE DaVince surgeons. The respect and opinions of all involved will carry big weight and move SPORT forward. As long as there are no glitches and financing issues that kill the timeline, we are sitting on the ONLY current legitimate and welcomed competitor to the currently only $42 BILLION company out there.
Next year we submit to FDA. In a year's time we are looking at a lion coming out of the cage. It is exciting. And yes, the new video has some great footage SPORT 19! When I saw the one arm go around and UNDER the other to move/grab tissue, that was an instant GAME CHANGER moment! Straight articulated sticks can not perform that maneuver! Stuff like that may negate the need for a third arm!
