I've got a lot reasons to wear a pretty big tinfoil hat and completely agree with your quote. I never thought I'd invest into a stock heavy in biometrics. Over the last ten years my libertarian opinion has changed and I've accepted the need for strong security to keep my friends and family safe no matter the moral issues I've had.

The world is going to adopt these measures at an increasingly rapid rate given the times we are in. I'd rather invest into a humble CEO trying to make a difference in the world then a pharmaceutical company destined for success that feeds off of the next rigged study to explain why a "mood stabilizer" at an early age will benefit a child.

Admittedly a little bit of metal gymnastics, however safety for societies couldn't be more important given the society we live in, and I'm ok with potentially benefiting from the results. I never thought I'd see myself investing into such companies creating biometric databases, but I know eventually it will become the normal in my life.

I wish to make money here so that I can have the freedom to chase dreams and either immerse myself into society or have the freedom to purchase rural property and escape from the pressure when I need to.

I don't want to become another person staring into the bottom of their glass at the bar wishing their morals and ethics hasn't gotten into the way of seizing an opportunity to better themselves.

Of course I don't want to see a police state, however this has been in the works for a long time by TPTB, and I hope to have the financial freedom to come and go as I please.
