I don't want to clog the board with legalization talk, but I'll chime in here on what I think the problem is: there just isn't too much political capital in Washington to move on cannabis one way or the other. Sessions and the DOJ have plenty on their plate right now, and have no interest in picking a fight with several states and popular sentiment.

Likewise, Congress is occupied with lots of other stuff right now. I feel like cannabis will finally be addressed when there's a relative period of quiet/calm in Washington, but that's not going to be any time soon. It's just not very high on the priority list right now.

I realize that must frustrate a lot of people, myself included...but the flip side is that enforcement is relaxing more and more, and legalization is springing up from the states. Sooner or later, legalization will happen naturally, because the feds won't be able to control the tidal wave coming up from the states.
