Seems that you guys are confusing the different financial reports.
I am not able to give you the exact names of the different reports in english because I do not work in an English speaking country so ...

The 40 million should appear in the Balance Sheet, however it does not have to appear the same way in your Profit and Loss Report. This is because each report has a different reason to be.

You can recognize a sale of certain products in a longer time if it is based on a long term prospect. Same with expenses you can pay upfront but can recognize it for the duration of the contract example multiyear lease...etc

There is different report used to calculate your taxable income .. not all your income nor your expenses are taxable ..
