Typically when a stock merger happens the stock is removed from your account when cash is paid. In this case where the entire merger consideration has not been paid, there appears to be a placeholder left in my accounts representing no value but same number of shares i held. My guess this is what will be needed to get the 'deferred merger consideration' in 12 months. I suggest to not remove those worthless shares. Someone is bound to see them in their account in a few months and ask their broker to remove them asthe show 0 value.
