OK, I just heard from Schwab with a more coherent statement than I have gotten so far:
My colleague David Dalton asked me to do some follow up on your previous inquiry regarding your Arcam AB rights. After speaking with our Security Services department they confirmed that the offer is only for eligible institutional investors and not retail investors at Schwab. So in essence, you wouldn't be able to exercise the rights, but since you still are able to hold them, you can trade the rights if there is a market for them (which at the moment there is) directly on the Stockholm Exchange. In order to do so you can certainly give our Global Trading desk a call at 800-992–4685. They are available from Sunday 5:30pm ET to Friday 5:30pm ET. So, us yanks can't exercise the rights and we have to go to the Swedish exchange to even sell them! Not very friendly.
