Fine, we'll pay a lot of people who don't have valid claims. Instead of using two years' worth of handouts to Israel and Egypt, we'll use four years' worth. So what? We're going to blow a lot more than that over the next 200 years while the Israelis and Palestinians go on slowing each other's population growth.

Besides, whatever we spend on "compensation" (or blackmail, or whatever you want to call it), it's a pittance compared to what we'll spend on Iraq, and we would not be there in the first place if the Israel/Palestine probelm were solved.
