I as well place "buy" orders well below the bid if I think the stock will retrace, and as the buy's trigger I'm that much "bought". I'm talking about blatant manipulation with phantom orders that are placed to dupe the average joe into a buy or a sell. I don't think they have orders on the books for these. I understand the order flow process, but I do think there is manipulation going on strictly from MM's perspective.
