Scania, this is the CLEARINGHOUSE patent which has been part of my mantra since the patent was awarded. As indicated, the patent expires in "2030". Any questions?
IMVSO, this remains the most valuable patent in the portfolio. Please also note the following excerpt:
TECHNICAL FIELD
This invention relates to messaging systems that enable a user to read a machine-readable code and retrieve a networked resource associated with that code (such as an optical messaging system that scans a barcode), and in particular to a messaging interchange system that enables interoperability of disparate messaging systems.
All iHubbers should pay close attention to the specific wording. "Such as" does NOT mean "exclusively." Rather, it implies that an Optical Messaging System is merely one of a potential number of alternative networked resources which may be employed.
As for "Machine Readable," this refers to any form of input which can be read and interpreted by a machine, such as 2D barcodes, NFC, BLE, etc.
