It seems that GEs strategy to produce everything in-house is backfiring on them.

As many large companies have explained, a collaboration and open source business model is needed to solve all the issues of AM.

GE has worked alongside their competition in the past few years on certain private and government studies, but as far as production today goes, they have definitely fallen behind their projections.

If they conducted business in those studies the same way they did with the America Makes project, clearly changing the project objectives, then reporting data on the study they changed the project to instead of the agreed upon original, to make themselves look better and the developer of the Technology look bad like they did sigma labs, I could definitely see many companies walking away regardless of GEs capabilities of AM domination.

I think the companies who are still collaborating, like Siemens, Pratt and Whitney, Lockheed Martin, Moog, and others will have much better solutions and a network like Moog mentioned in the video I posted.
