The SOS don't give out the shares of a company. It is called a TRANSFER agent for a reason - they transfer the shares. They are the FIRST to know the SS after a change - they actually MAKE the change. They are under no obligation to notify anyone. So, if you want to know correct information, you ask the ONLY entity that is guaranteed to know it.
