My rhetorical questions: Could gold have been deposited to the earth by meteorites. This event happened before the cyanobacteria began making oxygen. This gold became dissolved into the the oxygen free water. The gold in solution became precipitated out of the solution as the bacteria began producing oxygen. as the precipitation progressed, the bacteria die and leave a carbon signature (carbon leader). the source for the gold is the collision of stars which created the asteroid gold and subsequent oxygenation of the environment.
