"Management couldn't care less about a trader's need", you said and I agree with that but management should put the highest priority on the shareholder's (investors), confidence in the company.
Confidence is earned by trust and trust is gained by doing what you say you are going to and when you say you are going to do it. If you can't fulfill a promise you should explain why.
