All I implied was that there was a reason for raising the AS besides the joy of doing paperwork.
Anything else is inferred by others.
As others have stated, there can be good reasons for raising the AS, and I agree.
But we also need to realize that those increased shares don't magically disappear. At some point they will be sold, for whatever reason good or bad.
And that increases the supply of shares.
So the question becomes -- will the demand for shares outstrip the supply and cause the price to rise?
