Having a new version coming out doesn't make the old version a failure. It shows that the company is innovating and staying ahead.

The EAP was designed to attract end user customers who have an existing, installed base of 3D metal printers and to offer them incentivized pricing in return for feedback on initial and beta releases of our PrintRite3D® software Apps

That is exactly what is happening.

The purpose of beta testing is to come out the end of the test period with a robust product that can be fully depended upon in a commercial environment. Only then will it be offered for sale.


Isolating v.3 as v.2 'failed' is just pure codswallop. It's the natural progression and by the looks of v.3 opens up a whole new potential stream with companies in the research phase not needing baseline comparisons. I would hesitate a guess, this feature comes about because of the huge data Sigma has already collected through it's own work as well as the EAP program.
