Is it just me or is the witch hunt for Harvey Weinstein a bit ridiculous?

I mean they've had a name for it for decades, it's called a "casting couch", and it's not like many an actress hasn't used it to get her career going.
They even had a character in the movie The Godfather who talked about it!

I'm not condoning the guy, just saying, it's suddenly unacceptable after everyone knew about it for years?
