I don't know when CDOs and CDSs originated but using them in investment banking in the MBS market was alike going from an atom bomb too a hydrogen bomb. Those instruments exacerbation in the demise of the housing market and bank failures. Someone who passes legislation too remove a safe guard like the Glass-Seagall act and expose the MBS market too such instruments should have their motives questioned or their mental facilities.
