Selling the senior preferred for cash would bring in an immediate $185 Billion.
Maybe you are thinking they would swap them for new junior preferred? That would prevent their having to run around liquidating stuff to buy back those senior shares. Kind of hard to trade them for common stock since they already own 80% of that.
If the administration wanted to reduce the deficit - selling the senior shares brings in $185 billion. Releasing brings value of their warrants up to another $200 billion or so. That would give them lots of money to pay for tax cuts until supply side voodoo economics kicks in. :)
