How does it seem like a conspiracy theory to you? I realize you use that term so people correlate the M &A theory with tin foil hat people, but you base this on what?

The theory is very simple and is based on solid foundation. Zimmer had a material in Trabecular Metal and that material that simply didn't do what they had hoped it would do. Zimmer has piss poor market share in spine & dental markets at 6% & 10% with just under 1B in revs of a 14 B market (added together).

Zimmer absolutely needs a differientated product in both of these sub-markets. How does Zimmer manage to get new technologies? Zimmer uses acqusitions to bring in new technology.

That brings me to Amedica with Silicon Nitride. Simply put, Si3N4 does what Trabecular Metal was believed to do at even faster rates plus its antibacterial. The facile matetial simply blows away the competition as far as what it can do and how well the body responds to it.

Zimmer needs a new product + Amedica has the best product + upper mgmt of Amedica have strong ties to Zimmer. Its really that simple.

Please someone argue one of these points.
