Why the delay in publishing?



Probably just due to back-and-forth with the reviewers. Sometimes a particular reviewer can be a prick and an appeal is made to the editor to find a replacement. Extensive revisions of the manuscript can be required. Nothing sinister, just an exceptionally long review process in this instance.
