Amazon uses a formula that includes both recent sales and historical sales to determine it's ranking #. Since the jerky is starting over on Amazon it will take a while for their formula to accurately reflect the sales when compared to other products.
Although since I know both how many packages of each flavor sold today and the total of each flavor that have sold since it became available on Amazon again it does give me a better understanding of how the Amazon ranking works and how the current ranking number compares to the actual sales numbers.. Trying to determine how many packages of jerky have sold by looking at the Amazon ranking is pretty much useless.
