Is the Mac really safer...?

or is it simply a matter of market share, again? the same way developers won't bother with lesser platforms, hackers won't either. If Apple was to grow that big, it would be a target too, IMHO.

But I think that if they were to suggest that a hybrid environment would be safer, AND COMPATIBLE (this is a big IF in the collective mind of IT management), then I think that would be persuasive.

I don't know that MSFT cares if Apple succeeds or not. Except for Windows, they would sale plenty of software in a Mac only world (if that ever happened). In fact, the change would cause a whole new wave of upgrades of office (Virtual PC included). Oh... Now I see where Virtual PC fits in. MSFT is planning a Cu d'Etat on the PC (hehehe).
