"Why PR something we already know?"

I'm weary of reading all the things that everyone should already know, though there's no way that anyone could know them. Imagine you've established a 150K share position in Ipix. You are informed by Ipix, both via a series of press releases and published information, that Ipix plans an interim release of Prurisol P2b data before the end of Q3. You feel good about Prurisol's chances. You buy another 100K shares with time-sensitive capital based on this projection.

How does such an investor innately know, before the fact, that Ipix won't meet their published milestone? Because Ipix changed a PowerPoint corporate overview slide on their website? That's low-rent.
