I've personally watched an aweful lot of netflix over the years. Never once needed a roku to do it with. Knew people who specifically bought streaming set top options just so they could watch netflix. Some may have purchased rokus. But why? So they could watch netflix. Therefore I would not say roku saved netflix. Netflix content that people wanted is what saved netflix.

But with so many other options, why choose roku today? A fire stick costs $35?
