The right they fought for was freedom of expression, not for the right of a self-righteous mob of people to claim its right to tell other people to do what they say or be called a traitor and be fired from their jobs.

A professional football game is a spectacle to begin with and is not comparable to your daily workspace, and I don't have any doubt that if any employee of the NY Times wore a maga hat to work he would NOT be fired. He'd probably eat lunch by himself, but he would not be fired.
