if there is ANY DOUBT, AVTX IS ENTERING a explosive new high tech, hi profit margin market with their EVS technology, WORTH BILLIONS OF DOLLARS, this article should re-assure you that they are.

Released from the EBACE 2005 Aviation Trade show, held two weeks ago:

EBACE 2005 smashes records

by Didier Daoust

It s official. This year s European Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition is a complete sell out and the biggest yet.

The 2005 show is a record-breaking event with 278 companies exhibiting, filling 883 (100-square-foot) booth spaces, which is a 21-percent increase in floor area over last year. Amazingly, in only five years since the first EBACE edition, the exhibition space is completely sold out. The organizers even had to move the registration area outside the exhibition hall.

More than 7,000 visitors are expected during the three trade days of the show. Last year s event was attended by a record 6,487 people an increase of 8.4 percent over the previous year s total of 5,984 people.

(People come from ALL OVER THE WORLD to attend this trades show, including representatives from countries all around the world.)

it took place just a couple of weeks ago and here is an article profiling the Gulf Stream EVS.

it gives the price of $500,000.00 dollars a plane. It says gulf stream has installed 152 systems, that makes them worth $76,000,000.00 million dollars! this is a billion dollar market, that is just beginning to take hold.

i estimate avtx will get 10k - 25k an installation.

"It s better to turn on EVS than curse the darkness"

by Stephen Pope

Gulfstream has now installed infrared enhanced vision systems (EVS) in 152 of its jets. When the EVS developed jointly by Gulfstream and Kollsman entered service three years ago, there was little question that the technology would boost safety. EVS consists of a small infrared camera mounted in the nose and connected to the head-up display in the cockpit, which, when turned on, allows pilots to see through darkness and fog. The system s $500,000 list price, however, left some wondering whether buyers would dole out this much for a largely unproven technology.

Considering that more than 100 of the EVS installations in Gulfstream jets to date have been retrofits, the answer appears to be a resounding yes. Gulfstream s cause was aided by a recent change to U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) operating rules that lets flight crews of airplanes fitted with approved HUD/EVS equipment descend below published instrument approach minimums if they can see the airport using the infrared technology. The landmark ruling allows EVS-equipped Gulfstreams to descend to 100 feet above the runway touchdown zone elevation, as compared with 200 feet for non-EVS airplanes. It might not seem like much of a difference to the uninitiated, but it can and has meant the difference between being able to land and having to head for an alternate airport instead.

The ability of EVS to turn darkness into light is one of its major benefits. Pilots have reported the technology is extremely useful on approach, landing, rollout and taxi, especially at airports where taxiway and ramp lighting is not the best."
