Alberto sent my another email which clarifies a little better the current situation.

I will start with my initial email towards Alberto yesterday morning.

Subject: Quick question about your upcoming presentation of your paper.

Fernandes,

Will it be a presentation or a poster session.

Do I understand correctly that this 'Reducing of the guard interval loss' can improve the performance of existing technologies and the performance of the Embarq processor by (very roughly) about 10%.

Thanks for your anwser and good luck next month in Germany

Regards, Bob Witteveen

A couple hours later I've received the following (as I've posted yesterday already):

Bob,
it is a poster session.

It is not my place to make performance claims on behalf of New Visual, and I
am not aware of plans at the moment to include this technology with Embarq. I
think you got the idea of the paper, though.

Thanks, Alberto

This morning I've received the following clarification:

Bob, I want to clarify:
when I said to you that " I am not aware at the moment of plans to include it
in Embarq", I was referring to the prototype which is currently in an
advanced stage of development. Prototypes at this stage cannot be changed
around to include new ideas, and it would be very poor engineering technique
to do it.

That is not to say that it won't be included in future versions. Of course any
serious researcher in modem technology intends to see their contributions
implemented.

The gist of my first reply to you is that I am not the person to ask about the
business strategy of New Visual, or to make predictions about commercial
products, because I am a doctoral student, working on the research side of
things.

Alberto

So, afterall it looks to me a fair clarification, what I understand of this is that in future prototypes this 'Reducing of the guard interval loss' could improve the performance of Embarq by another (roughly 10%).

Another think good to know is that the present prototype is in such a stage that it can not be changed to much anymore.

Spokeshave, do you have a clue from which stage of development this could be?

To me this clarifications is good news, Bob
