My reply somehow got removed when I updated. So try again.

I would goggle dividends and check out the requirements. This could explain it more precisely and better than myself. for one to receive a dividend one has to own the stock on the xdate. That can be somewhat tricky for some so again goggle it for a definition.

Current month Apple pays its dividends are Nov/Feb/May/Aug.
