Treat this as though it was gone "untouchable"for 6 months, then reassess your position, if you stay out of your account except to watch it, you will be much better off. I have also been laid off / fired a few times in my life, and it is better to think of this money as gone, and not a savings account to draw on, even if things get really tight wait until a few big changes take place, then re-evaluate.
