They and China have been changing the genetics through breeding for many centuries. So I don't see there being any permanent issues stopping our success. Delays yes.

Technology simply enabled getting GMO's in a manner different than breeding. That is the way it can be sold, if it hasn't already. I think by now we would have seen resistence in articles ....if there still was any resistance. I get the angst, but we should be ok.
