David Walters

West Coast President and Co-head of Capital Markets



Mr. Walters joined RHK Capital in June 2017. Mr. Walters had previously worked at Detwiler Fenton & Co and prior to that, he co-founded Monarch Bay Securities, LLC, a FINRA member broker dealer, in 2006. From 2002-present Mr. Walters is a principal with Laguna Advisory Partners, LLC, a firm that provides growth capital and advisory services to market leading growth businesses. Mr. Walters is actively involved with alternative energy and GRID edge solution providers. These alternative energy businesses include providers of Natural Gas and Propane fuel systems and engines for both transportation and stationary power applications as well as software developers that create operating systems for management of industrial and commercial users of distributed power. From 1992 through 2000 he was Executive Vice President of Managing Director in charge of Capital Markets for Roth Capital (formerly Cruttenden Roth) where he was instrumental in building the company’s revenues from $7 million to $65 million. As an equity partner, he managed the capital markets group and was lead manager on over 100 public offerings, and was responsible for the syndication, distribution and after-market trading of the public offerings. He managed the public offerings for Cruttenden Roth, which was the most prolific public underwriter in the U.S. for deals whose post-offering market cap was less than $100 million. Mr. Walters sat on the Roth’s Board of Directors from 1994 through 2000. Prior to Cruttenden Roth, he was Vice President for both Drexel Burnham Lambert and Donaldson Lufkin and Jenrette in Los Angeles, and he ran a private equity investment fund. Mr. Walters’ wife Mimi represents CA-45 in the United States House of Representatives. They have four children and live in Orange County, California. Mr. Walters earned a B.S. in Bioengineering from the University of California, San Diego.
