Regarding your last paragraph....

Pretend if you will that the vast, vast majority of people aren't of the morally bankrupt persuasion like our current lot of scumbags.

I can imagine that after falling victim to the mindset that all public management behaves like crooks, coupled with being subjected to the endless propaganda of how great their intentions really are,fogs ones perception.

While a shell shocked state is understandable, perhaps door number two actually wants to run the company like a business to the benefit of shareholders.

Mind blowing concept for some.
