People do things for their reasons not ours. ~ Dale Carnegie

Who would want to buy ANYTHING somebody else is selling?

Whoever is buying something values that which they are purchasing to be higher than the money in hand.

Whoever is selling values the money more than that which they currently own.

Even though all selling of anything results in something being sold (or alt least attempted to be sold), the motivation for selling is for differing reasons.

If the reason somebody is selling something is that they are desperate, it may result in somebody else getting a much better deal than they otherwise might.

If the reason somebody is selling is because they are ignorant of the true value of what they are selling, it may result in somebody else getting a much better deal than they otherwise might.

If the reason somebody is selling is because they, themselves simply do not value very highly what they are selling, it may result in somebody else getting a much better deal than they otherwise might.
