Lots of Building Going on in Hanover

Projects are underway from residential builds to work on the marijuana facility.

It’s been a busy summer for the Hanover Building Department.

Hanover is moving forward with a 400 thousand dollar water and sewer service extension to the north east end of Town to support a new as well as future subdivisions.

The Town is also taking on 380 thousand dollars into grading an area of the Industrial Park to make it more building ready.

Director of Development Don Tedford adds this is a great summer of building activity as well as work has begun on the new Hanover high school and the Town has issued a number of new housing building permits.

As for the unfinished marijuana facility, Tedford has been meeting with Alternative Medical Solutions and says they are eager to begin construction on the interior of the facility.

Tedford believes they are working towards a ten month period of finishing the interior of the building and having their first product ready for testing and market.

He says the push is on to have the facility up and running before next July when recreational marijuana becomes legalized.

Hanover has also entered a site plan agreement with Exceldor Foods allowing the turkey processing company to construct a new storage building on site.

The General Manager of Exceldor Foods reports that production has increased by 6 million kg and the new storage facility will help handle the increased storage of goods.

All in all, Tedford says this Summer is shaping up to be a very busy one in the area of building activity and Town projects.
