In my decades of trading & investing I have yet to see a stock 'not' retrace before heading higher. This is normal. However in penny stock land the difference in sentiment shifts because I think less robust portfolios (I'm being polite) tend to invest disproportionately in just one ticker Simply put, adept traders use stops and experienced investors assess their position during dips and decide whether to add or not. But they don't sell into weakness because they did their DD from the start.
