They can't. Once again, the CEO is playing it fast and loose in his interviews.

MMC didn't sell 2.3Mt of HCC in the first half of 2007. It sold 1.9Mt of HCC AND 0.4Mt of middlings for a "grand total" of 2.3Mt in the first half of 2007.

If MMC is running at full capacity next year, it will produce 7.5Mt of HCC and, presumably, 1.5-2.5Mt of middlings for a "grand total" of 9-10Mt.
