I think any of the following would have a good chance in the general election.

Mike Huckabee (Governor, Arkansas) my first pick.

George Allen (Senator, Virgina)

Bill Frist (Senator, Tennessee)

Sam Brownback (Senator, Kansas)

Mitt Romney (Governor, Massachusetts)

George Pataki (Governor, New York)

Condoleezza Rice (Secretary of State)

I agree with many on the board I would not like to see John McCain get the Republican nomination. But the worst Republican would be far better than any Democrat.
