I believe it is normal that since IP cases like this in case of contingency fee might be costing too much time, an attorney can be replaced for some time, to work on other cases. This way they can reduce costs and keep the best attorneys available for other important clients.

Mr. Rey seems to be a top attorney. I think CC hired Stroock & Stroock to keep costs lower and to do some work that doesn't require Mr. Rey.

But the real question is, why do they need Mr. Rey to finish the job successfully. Can it be just to put this to his track record? That might indicate the high stake that is in play.
