Looks like the worst of hurricane Irma will miss South Carolina. That is a relief to our good friends in Beaufort that live maybe 10 feet above sea level off a coastal marsh. Unfortunately the storm now appears to be tracking over the second homes of both of my brothers. One has a townhouse in Venice, the other has a townhouse in Punta Gorda. I hope their roofs hold up and that their units aren't destroyed by storm surge. Luckily they are both up in Illinois at the present time. So no danger to life and limb. Almost 100 years since Tampa got hit with a hurricane. Only 10,000 people lived there then. The Tampa St Pete area has at least 3 million now. I hope no one loses their life in this storm. The post event pictures out of the Caribbean are sad. I've never seen such weather related destruction.
