If there was DEMAND for the shares, mms would accommodate. It is their sole purpose to make a market in a stock. Clearly, the demand was here on the run up ahead of the event and now that the event took place and the CEO went dark as far as releasing any information to continue the momentum, the share price sells back down. It's just the law of supply/demand vs pump/dump.
