When I was in my twenties — 'fear of not having enough money to live the way I wanted to' — led me to become very work-focused and very successful.


I think that's an entirely normal fear when you're young, unless you have a very substantial trust-fund. Not having that fear could easily lead to a very unhappy life.

People with a trust-fund lack that fear, so they often — not surprisingly — have little interest in work.

We've run out of other people's Social Security taxes needed to subsidize our low income tax rates.
