If I wanted any indication of how people would handle an apocalyptic situation, I just had to look at yesterday here in Texas.
A news report was released that 75% of all the States gasoline would be headed to the Houston area. This started a panic like I've never seen. People were lining up for gas in lines half a mile (at least) down the street. Gas prices went from $2.20 at the beginning of the day to $2.65 by the end. The line was there from around noon until at least midnight when I was coming home.
Then the powers that be came out with word that there was NO gas shortage in Texas.
I can't even imagine what it would have been like had this been about water and toilet paper.
