I do think the holding companies are being created to be sold off individually (essentially selling the company drug by drug). I think this makes sense as a way to maximize value as the drugs are not complimentary - each is worth more to a specific type of buyer who would see the other two drugs as baggage and would not pay a premium for them.

I certainly hope they sell the holding companies and do not distribute shares in them to holders - I don't want to hold any of them for years. I suspect many PTX investors would immediately sell such a spinoff (or at least sell 2 of the 3).

I'd rather see PTX bring in cash by selling each in turn (and then turning out the lights after the last one is sold).
