Thoughts on simple cork...

So I think we can all agree this ez grinder hasn't turned out as planned...let's move on to the next potential disaster.

Simple cork. Seems like a nice idea at first...let's solve a common household frustration with a simple solution that comes in the bottle. Customers would undoubtedly appreciate it.

But it's not being sold to customers. It's being sold to an industry. A very successful industry that's been around for centuries doing things exactly the same way with very little change. Why? Because it's an industry the embraces tradition, not innovation. Simple cork doesn't solve an industry problem at all. In fact it sabotages and industry standard with has been in place for most of written history. Why would any wine company sacrifice profit to incur the added expense of sticking a gadget to something as timeless and long-ago perfected as a wine bottle?

And who is going to stop buying their favorite wine to buy the other wine that has the funny cork in it? Is it really that difficult to open a wine bottle?

So first our buddy Yaniv will have to make relationships within industry and convince people this is a product that THEIR customers need...which they don't, and then he's going to need to convince them that THEY need to give up some profit to improve upon tradition with this little tinker toy (which they don't). And THEN he's going to have to get way better at producing a product, which so far this company has sucked at.

I don't see it folks. It ain't happening. The wine industry is going to laugh at this and those are the only people that matter.
