Allow me to try and bring the reality balloon back down to earth. Although I've posted this perhaps a half dozen time or more, here are the very simple identifiable factors which tell you "your on the wreck";
Assuming of the Spanish Colonial period, you find;
Heavy concentrations of ballast rocks.
Lower hull structure timbers representing frame, stringer and base hull keel timbers. Upper decking wood is not significant as it can readily imply flotsam.
Armament artillery (cannons) on the site and scattered throughout the area. Very big and easily identifiable anomaly targets.
Ships anchors (some of which would have normally been deployed in desperation to hold omany, many ff from going onto reef or shore. Very big and identifiable anomaly targets.
If a Spanish treasure galleon (always) many, many broken and intact olive jars and shards.
Large cross section of "cultural" artifacts ranging to small arms, personal items, silver & pewter tableware, navigational instruments, personal jewelry , Etc., Etc....
High volume of gold bars & cakes and silver bars usually found in close proximity to the main hull site.
Gold & silver coins in high concentration in main wreck site and scattered extensively.
That being stated, this vague news release of 'found material (artifacts?) of the period in a concentrated area means what? Who with credentials (Sinclair or DeBry?) came to that conclusion? The company "super divers" - X-military or law enforcement divers apparently having had little or no experience with artifact/material identification on Spanish Colonial Shipwrecks. Furthermore, of what period? I find it incredible that such a statement be made but simple identification of if but one or two objects can't even be revealed publicly. Thats my simple observation and opinion. Truly, I've been in this, so I can't help but find this somewhat amusing. On the other hand, the company must have its own strategy respective to making "real factual" releases. Hopefully, for you stockholders, good revelations are forthcoming but to now I find nothing impressive.
