Thats where you are wrong. Myself, being a mid 20s male with hundreds of friends/acuantises that use snapchat, I'd say less then half of them still use facebook. I started using Facebook in 8th grade and used it till about my 2nd year of college, so about 7 years of use. Snapchat started in college for me and lasted 5 years going strong. I dont see snapchat lasting not as long as FB, but much further. My friends and I agree facebook was cool, instagrams great for photos, but we use snapchat everyday" and that is $$$$$$$$$. Cant deny continuous demand. We will see an apple and facebook type run when whatever theyre spending so much R&D on comes to fruition. They didnt go public to be a public camera app. :)
