Police have shot and killed the main suspect accused of killing 13 people in the Barcelona terrorist attack.
Younes Abouyaaquob was wearing a suspected suicide belt when he was shot by officer in Subirats.
The Spanish bomb squad have sent a robot to inspect the body and check for explosives.
Catalan authorities posted on Twitter: "The suspicious man in #Subirats wears what looks like a belt of explosives attached to the body. This man has been shot down."
Newspaper El Mundo reported that a witness spotted the driver suspected of mowing down pedestrians on Las Ramblas and tipped off police.
The paper added that Abouyaaquob was seen near an Amatoil petrol station, around 20 miles from the city of Barcelona.
El Pais claimed the man shouted "Allahu Akbar" before he was shot, and is now lying face down in the street.
Sky News correspondent Mark White is driving into the area behind a convoy of police vans, but most routes have been closed to civilian traffic.
