W_I, no one thought the big shorts would take this opportunity to cover some shares. This is exactly what they needed. Everyone thinking it will crash so they step in and buy. Only way they could do it without pushing stock price higher. They know the company is legit, but had no way out without this helping hand. Way smarter than retail traders.
