That 33,000 number (of deaths due to opioids in 2015) has been bothering me for days. See the article on the Illinois settlement.
The way the journalist inserted the paragraph in his article is very clever: it makes it sound like Insys is responsible for all those deaths.
Insys is paying fines for wrong marketing practices (which, by the way, used to be commonplace just a few years ago).
Insys is not responsible for fentanyl imported from China and flooding the streets of Chicago and the rest of the US.
