Why PMCB's old treatment for PC has no chance of success. Unlike most cancers more than 80% of the human pancreatic cancer tissue is the highly desmoplastic stroma. Unfortunately chemo only adds to the build up of stroma over time. PMCB's treatment only adds chemo to patients already heavily treated with chemo. Additionally in most patients diagnosed with PC the tumor has already metastasized meaning it is no longer localized. Remember that the trial PMCB is proposing is for patients with locally advanced PC that are no longer responding to chemo after 4-6 months. Read the article below it is very informative.
